Buweiler

You don’t have to live in Buweiler to realize they have a traffic problem there.

How to handle traffic problems is a science and of course a matter of opinion.

According to the motto “everything was better in the past” (which is not really true) even traffic regulation can be viewed in terms of changes over the years. Life experience is relativized by the possibility of comparison.

Expensive traffic lights have been replaced by roundabouts.

A local thoroughfare was driven at 50 km / h.

The speed limit for 30 km / h was reserved for pedestrian zones.

There is no doubt that the volume of traffic has increased in recent years.

As a passionate driver and car enthusiast, I like my quiet neighborhood and the freedom to cross the road safely.

Remember the joke about the heavily driven street: “How did you get on the other side?” – “I was born there!”.

That’s about the situation in Buweiler: they have a 242 m distance between the speed limit sign of 70 km / h and the place name sign that indicates a speed of 50 km / h and the distance of 77 m to the 30 km /h sign and finally a 69.6 m distance to the radar speed trap.

That is 288.5 meters to slow down from 100km / h to 30 km / h. Is this legal and does it make sense? For sure it generates income for whoever is collecting the fines.

Other cities have the smiley face that shows how fast you are driving and you can step on the brakes until the smiley face smiles green at you. At least, this is helpful for the driver and the residents.
