… to be continued.
Deutsche Bank cannot accept the US drivers license as proof of residency. They need the German “Abmeldung”, not older than three months, doesn’t make much sense when I moved in 2022. The requirement comes from the German Finanzministerium. I should present a utility bill for proof of residency, however they are all in my husband’s name.
The explanation is strange: a US citizen can register for residency in Germany and use the driver’s license as proof for residency in the US. So what does that mean? You have to ask all German Einwohnermeldeämter and all German Ausländerbehörden that you do not have a residency in Germany?
I don’t know what their problem is. I do tax returns in both countries and this has nothing to do with my bank. I have tax accountants in both countries.
