It’s easy to take a paternity test today because genetic sequencing is affordable. The risk of ruining your career as a woman, because the man is a reckless sperm donor or an inexperienced dachshund in contraception, is small. The paternity test can then legally require the father to pay alimony. This is probably still a problem in backward Catholic regions.
