Monaco has a codified constitution. It is outlined in a single, distinct document known as the Constitution of the Principality.

History: It was first promulgated in 1911 following the Monegasque Revolution and heavily revised into its current form on December 17, 1962, by Prince Rainier III. It was most recently amended in 2002 to better align with the standards of the Council of Europe.

Structure: At roughly 3,800 words, it is historically recognized as the shortest operational written constitution in the world.

Government Type: It establishes Monaco as a hereditary, constitutional monarchy governed by the rule of law.

The Greyhound experience :

I traveled on Greyhound before, out of curiosity, out of necessity, no flights available or the flights take you across the country that is just ridiculous. In this case Delta Airlines messed up twice and Greyhound became a competitive alternative. The fare was $130, from Indianapolis to Bismarck, travel time Saturday afternoon until Sunday evening. In Chicago the bus was to leave after midnight to arrive at Minneapolis in the morning to catch the bus to Bismarck.

In Chicago there was time to get dinner delivered by doordash.

The bus leaving in Chicago was delayed, the driver called in,  as I was told by a co-traveler and not by staff. A very nice and helpful security guard was taking care of Greyhound business throughout the night, while Greyhound staff swept the floor and left until the morning. Travelers and me were sitting on the benches, sleeping. The multiple plug to charge your phone, 2 times ten outlets connected to one outlet on the floor, didn’t work, they seem to have a short, instead of charging the phone’s power got depleted really fast.

A new announcement, the bus is leaving at 6, we get on the bus, no tickets are being scanned. The driver was very nice, only at the end of the tour had he some difficulty to find the Greyhound station in Minneapolis, that is located in a underpass of a spagetti junction in the heart of the city.

We exited the bus and since the station was empty before, a LED light Karaoke sound systems was playing uplifting songs. Immediately upon our arrival, staff instructed us not to ask them for traveling instructions but to call customer service. This was odd since three staff didn’t do anything to get us rescheduled after a delay. Staff A running around with a headset now makes announcements that are so loud, that you cannot hear anybody talking to you on your mobile phone. There is no screen available to show the bus schedule, the only TV screen shoes a TV soap opera. Restrooms are functioning and clean. There are no phone booth available to talk in private and without background noise. After 15 minutes on the phone with Greyhound customer service not understanding what they are saying because of the noise level in the station caused by the announcer we should call customer service, I loose my temper and go to the talking head staff A and yell at him to keep the sound level low since I cannot hear what customer service is saying, my phone on full volume and room speaker. The noise through bypassing traffic, unnecessary open doors, concrete underpass architecture alone would be loud enough to prevent you from hearing customer service and no I don’t use earplugs for my phone calls and I don’t intend to do so because they put you in danger not hearing anymore what is going on around you. On Sunday afternoon after 15 minutes with customer service on the line, unbearable backgrounds sound and a night spent on the Chicago station, I loose my patience and say: somebody will loose his job over this. Staff B immediately felt threatened by my remark and asked me: you are threatening me? I said : No I am not threatening you, somebody in management is responsible for this and I am not threatening, I am promising. I leave the bus station to go to my hotel, that and dinner war $300 that was not within my travel budget. I check my Greyhound App and the ticket hadn’t changed  it still shows the Sunday ticket, I didn’t worry about it because the bus from Chicago hadn’t even scanned the tickets. I look up the schedule for the Monday bus to Bismarck and I see that the bus is sold out, I fear that I might not get on the bus after all. I pay for my hotel bill and go to the station. I am in line to board the bus to Bismarck and my ticket bounced, staff A tells me to step aside. You haven called customer service to have your ticket changed I am getting yelled at for the entertainment of co-traveler. It is my responsibility to get the ticket changed, they keep yelling at me. After the bus has completed boarding staff B tells me nicely that I can get on, even with my unchanged ticket from yesterday. Being stressed out from the ordeal I say, good luck for you. Again, staff B overreacts and says No! you cannot get of the bus. I ask is there a seat available on that bus!? Staff A then confirms there is no seat available on the bus. I call customer service again and a nice lady changes my ticket it now shows plus three, meaning Tuesday. I take two of my business cards and go to staff B and tell him to accept my business card since I am writing a travel diary on the Internet and they should have an opertunity to comment. He refuses to take my card and lectures me again that it is my responsibility to get ticket changed, I didn’t have the ticket changed in the hotel either and it I hadn’t made my lucky for you comment, I would have been on the bus. I say thank you for confirming that there was a seat on the bus. When I talked to staff B to try to tell him my side of the story he says you don’t interrupt me I am talking now and lectures me in front of my co-travelers like I was a little girl. I talk to staff A, he accepts my business card, I explain my writing and I am now so exhausted that I am crying. I leave the bus station.

Another night in another hotel and again unexpected travel expenses for another $300. My total spending are nor $740 for a trip from Indianapolis to Bismarck, North Dakota. Those unexpected expenses cut into my budget to pay for my rent, depleted my savings, all I can say is if you play with my livelihood, I play with your, not as a threatening individual but as an observer of system dynamics.

The original travel plan was a $180 ticket change that didn’t get booked, didn’t show up as a check-in on the day of travel and would have cost $500 to change it again at the day of travel. This ticket change mess-up occurred after Delta’s pilot could fly because he forgot his credentials in the hotel.

On Tuesday, I get on the bus, staff A and B are considered to keep the noise level down and are saying, when you have a problem with your ticket please ask me.

Fixing Lebanon’s inadequate constitution requires shifting from a rigid sectarian (confessional) power-sharing system to a modern, secular civil state. The most critical steps needed include abolishing political-religious quotas, ensuring an independent judiciary, and implementing an optional civil personal status law.

Lebanon’s constitutional and political paralysis is not caused by a single human individual. Instead, it is deeply entrenched in the country’s sectarian power-sharing system and a broader deadlock among rival faction leaders, sectarian elites, and international stakeholders.
